Description

Greetings everyone, and to those who have accompanied me on my astrophotography journey over the past year. From being a novice to still having a long way to go, I wanted to mark this one-year milestone by doing something special. I decided to redo my first ever attempt at astrophotography, the Lagoon Nebula, but with a more basic and affordable telescope to demonstrate that even with limited resources, it is possible to achieve excellent results. For this project, I chose the Skywatcher Star travel 120 telescope from first light optics, along with an Astro essentials Crayford focuser and a Stella Mira 0.8x Reducer Flattener to fix any issues with the scope's edges. Additionally, I used a ZWO 5x Filter wheel with Antlia 3nm Narrowband pro filters for the camera and accessories, along with the entry-level cooled camera from ZWO, the ASI183mm Pro Cooled.Despite my plans to spend at least six nights capturing images of the target (2-3 hours each night), I was only able to collect three nights of data due to unfavorable weather conditions. However, I managed to capture a total of 9 hours and 40 minutes of data, including one night of Hydrogen Alpha, one night of Oiii, and the last night with 2 hours and a little more on the Sii.I would like to express my gratitude to people like Lukomatic, Visible Dark, Dylan O’Donnell, Entering into space, Adam Block, and Chucks Astrophotography for their guidance on stacking and editing my astrophotos via their very helpful Youtube videos. I would also like to thank Luke for sharing his Rainbow SHO processing technique, which helped me create this special image.Lastly, I want to acknowledge the support I have received from my family and friends, as well as the new friends I have made throughout my journey in this hobby. All of you are special to me. <3

Clear Skies, o7
